Touch of "Glass" Corvette Show at Hooters was the place to go for heat, horsepower, & chicken wings

The Touch of "Glass" Corvette Club of Kansas City was out in force over the weekend for their annual visit to Hooters in the Legends area and a big show and shine. Corvettes lined up all round the building, making an impressive display of fiberglass and forward-hinged hoods for those that passed by.

This show was heavy on the late-model Corvettes. But that probably was somewhat due to environmental conditions. With temperatures reaching the century mark, and no relief in sight, driving something with modern air conditioning seemed like a pretty good idea. In fact, there were no first-generation Corvettes on display whatsoever, and they were the only era where air conditioning was not available from the factory.
